AP Lang announcement

Please make sure to bring both your Young Goodman Brown and Dimmesdale Essays to the next class. We will be reviewing them and you will greatly benefit if you have the paper in your possession during class.

Also this:

“He has more entrails than might appear from his quiet exterior, I think.”

-Ezra Pound, writing to John Quinn regarding T.S. Eliot

And this:

“Various critics have done me the honour to interpret [The Waste Land] in terms of criticism of the contemporary world, have considered it, indeed, as an important bit of social criticism. To me it was only the relief of a personal and wholly insignificant grouse against life; it is just a piece of rhythmical grumbling.”

-T.S. Eliot, quoted by the late Professor Theodore Spencer during a lecture at Harvard University, and recorded by the late Henry Ware Eliot Jr., the poet’s brother
