Catching your breath

Young Scholars of AP Lang:

I’m alarmed by the assignment completion rate lately, especially the Huck Journal reflections. That assignment, as I said, is graded using the single criterion of genuine reflection (rather than analytical depth, grammatical correctness, etc.). As of now we are two weeks past due date and one week past deadline. I’ve decided to allow half credit for assignments submitted by this weekend (Sunday night). You need not email to let me know you’ve turned it in as I will check again on Monday.

The finish line is in sight. One more big push through this research paper. You have it in you. You just need to find it.

Silver Chips Survey

Dear Young Scholars:

If you would, please take a moment to break from your exhausting  exhaustive research to fill out this quick survey. It is for a good cause (the editors will be picking students arbitrarily and throwing their entire English class a doughnut party!).

Hon. 10

Lots of stuff going on lately. Field trips. Exams. Robots. I get it. Please try to contact people who didn’t miss class and catch up with me so you don’t miss anything. I’ve been busy and so not as good about updating the blog as I would like. But, things are settling down a bit now, so reliability should increase (not like the choco ration). One particular that many may have missed: We did a short story and questions last week. I posted it on the course specific page. “The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas” Assignment on turnitin.com, due Friday 5/5.

AP Lang!

Hello Young Scholars:

First, good luck on your exams. Remember to sleep and eat properly. You will get through it.

Second, Huck Finn Research Paper. I’ve updated the assignment and the due dates. There is a separate page for this Mama Jama. You should have finished the book proper, so you should be ready for the research. Don’t forget to submit your journal assignments.
